I subscribed to ACD for several years, but became disenchanted with it when they started covering the Oklahoma cake show ad nauseum and had very few articles of instruction. The best part of the magazine is the business section.

I have been a subscriber for three years and every year after renewal I have to call and try to get my subscription restarted. This year they have informed me there are no more issues left for Oct/Nov/Dec and I was to go looking in retail store for if I wanted it. Not at all the way to treat a customer.

It seems I should have read the reviews before ordering. I ordered this at the beginning of July for my wife’s birthday. She did not receive the Aug/Sep issue because they said it was already ready to send when I ordered. Then I called again and was told that she would receive it November 21st. Called today (12/1) and they of course don’t understand why she didn’t get it. But there are no more of the magazines left and all they can do is extend the order. Supposedly the middle of this month they will send out a new issue. Guess we will wait and see…

This is a good magazine for standard cake decorating – I was hoping for more “out of the box” ideas.

I like this magazine but waiting for issues is like piping with cold chocolate…Sooo painfully impossible! I have subscribed to this magazine over the years and have been it as a gift. I always,always, always had to wait and the issues were sporatic and have had to call many times to find out where is my magazine??! I have been told ther were publishing issues, and payment issues and mailing issues…but no magazine issues! Finally, after having already having a subscription in effect and getting a renewal as a gift…they stopped sending them altogether! I guess it snapped a circuit having overlapping info! I called. I Got no issues although they saw I had issues coming. That was more than a year ago! I cannot blame the postal system people. There should also be more advanced and inspiring articles. How many roses do we need ! The garden is full of flowers! Why does everyone have to make the same uninspired thing? There are tons of inspiring techniques we as “cakies” want to learn.This country has an unending wealth of cake artist…just go to the Oklahoma Sugar Art Show! They should take 2 projects per issue from that show in each issue! Now, I just go to the site and look for issues with people like Kerry Vincent as contributer and I will be inspired. There is no reason ‘Sugarcraft Magazine’is better even if they have been around longer. We all come from the same gene pool…we all LOVE the cake…the cookie…the sugar craft anything. We need more. We need our issues!!
